Kogi Election Update... APC Candidate Wins.


The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Abubakar Audu, has emerged victorious in Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State.

Audu, who is returning as governor of Kogi State 12 years after he failed to win a second term in office, defeated the Peoples Democratic Party candidate and incumbent Governor, Capt. Idris Wada (retd.) by 231, 863 votes to 199, 514.

The figures were the total tally of votes from across the 21 Local Government Areas that make up Kogi State.

Mr. Audu garnered 32,349 more votes than Gov. Wada.

The APC candidate was declared winner in the following LGAs: Kogi-Kotonkarfe, Adavi, Ajaoukta, Okehi, Ijumu, Yagba West, Yagba East, Idah, Kabba Bunu, Olamaboro, Ankpa, Ofu, Igala Mela, Bassa, Ibaji and Lokoja.

While his opponent was declared winner in Mopa Muro, Ogori-Magongo, Okene, Dekina and Omala LGAs respectively.
