It was a #Peaceful #Demonstration, the Assistant Commissioner of #Police addressed Students and we all agreed to remain calm. Our sole #request was to see the Vice Chancellor, and hear from him if he has extended the #deadline for #registration till one week before second semester exam. The Asst. Commissioner of Police called the #Rivers #State Commissioner of #Police and told him what was happening. Later on, the Vice #Chancellor brought a message through the Deputy CSO, #University of Port Harcourt that the Students should send 5 nominees for #negotiation. Meanwhile, information reached us that the Vice Chancellor has ordered the #arrest of those leading the peaceful demonstration. But there was no exact leader because SUG Uniport President was there, Faculty Presidents were fully on ground, State Presidents and Ethnic leaders ec cetera were all actively involved. So it was difficult to send five scape goats to the Vice Chancellor. Then the Asst. #Commissioner of Police with some of his men together with the Deputy CSO went to meet the Vice Chancellor. When they returned, they started arresting Students and #shooting indiscriminately, which lead to the death of about 3 students, leaving so many others injured. Management Faculty President, Comr. Peter was confirmed dead. It was after this that students went rogue and started agitating. The Vice Chancellor and his mouthpiece, Williams Wodi should be asked for the account of lives they claimed yesterday. This morning, they activated Army to beat up Nigerian Students. They're still #arresting Students' leaders even as I compose this post. Prof. #Lale's #administration have recorded a lot of bloodshed within the last few months. I advise Nigerian Students to leave #vengeance for God. I have no #personal grievance against anybody, the interest of the Students is my interest. May the #souls of sir P and the departed #Comrades rest in perfect peace. Amen.

Rt. Hon. Andrew Osose Ojeabulu, #Edo National

In addition, whatever happened to Nigerian students yesterday, whatever decision the police made yesterday, the Vice-chancellor and all his aid should account for them. The police supported us until they where told to go contrary by our said management. Myself Comr Daniel, Comr Anthony & Comr Itoro where almost shot by military men @ delta gate except for God that spared our lives.

The struggle still continues least the death of Comr Peter be in vain.
A Comr will always say that no man is an island including Lale.
Whatever he thinks he has or knows there are people that know more.
For me, I will always stand with the truth.
ALUTA CONTINUA!
VICTORY MUST BE ASCERTAINED!!!
